Claudia Fischer presented the installation „Being on the road“ in the fifth floor of the tower block sited Wächterstraße. By her work she recurred to travelling as a subject. Her own experiences of swinging between Lisbon and Leipzig for years were included also as interest in problems of migration.
To the visitors the exhibition starts in front of the tower block having to find the name “being on the road” on the ‚Klingeltafel‘. The necessarily following elevator ride up to the upper floor was part of the exhibition as distinctive perception-pattern. Having arrived on top the visitors reached a room filled by pillows from ‚Lufthansa“. Across the pillows one could view a spectacular sight of Leipzig. Sounds of travelling by a 4-channel audio installation filled the room as an acoustic remembrance of the artists own flight-ways.
