In 1998 Möller started shooting his documentary in Havana´s quarter Buenavista at it´s long closed cultural centre, the so called „Social Club“. By interviewing protagonists of this time Carsten Möller manages to confront with both: The history and the present of the city quarter an its inhabitants. A trailer screened by a monitor allows fascinating insights into a society in transience with the protagonists of Möllers project. Möller aims to exemplify the cultural dissonance between the first and the third world at the beginning of our 21st century asking how the meaning of local identity is changing within a growing globalisation of culture.
