The video shows an animated wireframe of what appears to be a sea, in a way what we see it’s the images skeleton, which is interrupted by fragments of the same image but completed (with texture, lighting and environment). Those residual fragments give us an idea on how this structure could be once completed. Finally, the camera pulls back showing us that what appeared to be a big liquid volume, it’s defined by boundaries that cut the surface in a square, transforming the uniform matter into an object.

The audio was done databending stills from the video, transforming the images into audio, achieving an electronic sound that builds the atmosphere for this electric sea.

This incomplete images, fragments and undefined construction, show us the structural elements of this “post-produced nature” which has an aesthetic and origin behind the screen and not in direct reference with what nature looks like in reality.

No Land In Sight started with the collection of emblematic German landscapes as video footage. With this raw footage we did the recomposition of fictional landscapes following the aesthetical ideas of landscape design and German romantic painting to create an idealized image of nature.



Through different video post-production softwares, 3D and digital effects the images were edited over and over again in a way that the sense of “original material” is lost. In the video installation we see the process of post-production and how this images are endlessly altered. The 2 Channels are establishing a dialog between themselves and show how the landscapes are digitally constructed, deconstructed and constantly manipulated making visible their own flexibility.

In EDF (Error de Formato / Format Error) the Chilean Patagonian landscapes from the “Torres del Paine National Park” are the main protagonists. As the video develops the images are slowly been deleted. The intervention consists in a monumental black geometric figure that blocks the landscape images. What we finally see is similar to the logic of the “fade to black” transition, the difference here is that not only the two-dimensional image fades to black, but also the topography is gradually covered.

One of the main ideas in the project is the problem of digital representation in the context of the “post-photographic era”, where the photographic images are no longer the representation of reality, but a way of reality itself. The annulation of the geography in the screen is an effort for making a visually simple but strong intervention that make us aware of the ethereal quality of the digital representational surface.

In ML all the paintings have been digitally deleted from the Louvre Museum walls. The video shows tourist with their digital cameras in an empty room. The experience of one of the most famous images in the world, the „Mona Lisa“, can only be seen through the cameras LCD screens.

Big Pool is a video about the largest swimming pool in the world, located on the Chilean coast, in San Alfonso del Mar, Algarrobo. It was inaugurated in December 2006. With over one-thousand meters in length, two-hundred and fifty million liters of water and a size equivalent to six-thousand domestic swimming pools, this milestone has entered into the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the world’s unique constructions.
This 6:30 minutes video records this vast pool using shots that focus on the obvious artificiality of the location, it shows the surrounding buildings, the site and its relationship to the geographical environment.
