Let’s make an attempt.
We remain in this attempt, we do not have a point, the last solid thing that remains is the space. Privileged are those who have one.
Let’s make an attempt.
The walls would only be thin membranes. The walls would be skin. That which is out there is older than the Anthropocene, it cuts and diffuses through the membrane of our cell.
We build a space, we build a place because to build and to live means: to be in the world.
Digital space presses itself into memory through repetition just as physical space does. This is how the psyche forms. And just like nature, the digital does not forget.

„Living with the dissolute wallpaper-art of the interiors of that time […] was like being woven in, spun into a spider’s web, in which world events were scattered, hanging around like undressed insect bodies. One does not want to separate oneself from this cave.“
Walter Benjamin

Seilakt III–VI: On a Razor’s Edge

29/10/2020 — 10/01/2021
in the MdbK Leipzig

“On a Razor’s Edge” is a group exhibition of the Museum der bildenden Künste (Museum of Fine Arts) Leipzig, in cooperation with the Intermedia and Fine Arts classes of the Media Art Department at the Leipzig Academy of Fine Arts.

Originally, the exhibition series SEILAKT with six artistic positions was conceived for the lift of the Museum. For technical reasons and because of the pandemic the project was moved to the Middle Age and Renaissance rooms on the 2nd floor of the museum.
For this project, the artists Fumi Kato, Tina Mamczur, Sten Jackolis & Linus Bonduelle as well as Bernhard Bormann & Francesca Raimondo have produced a series of works that are presented in a group exhibition curated by Prof. Alba D’Urbano (HGB). With their works the artists in the exhibition establish a dialogue with the oldest part of the museum’s collection.

Some of the art works have been realised with the support of the Denkzeit scholarship by the Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Sachsen (Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony).
