DAGEGEN / DABEI (AGAINST / WITH) / 2006

Gallery »Laden für Nichts«, Leipzig / Feb 2006
UNTITLED (MDF (3-parts) / screw clamps / frame brackets)
GOOD NEWS FOR PEOPLE WHO LOVE BAD NEWS (video projection / shipping carton)
YES YES (neon object)
EMPTY UNTIL FULL (neon object / spray paint)

The main procedure of the exhibition consists in defining the walls of the gallery as an empty space. The shown works „Untitled“, „Good News For People Who Love Bad News“, „Yes Yes“ and „Empty Until Full“ – play upon a three dimensional module in the middle of the room. It separates and joins both gallery rooms in „Laden für Nichts“ at the same time. The hybrid out of sculpture, architectural intervention and display docks in parasitic form on the spatial conditions of the gallery and changes its spatial logic.

The individual works, which to a degree refer to earlier exhibition contexts, describe a state of an imaginary ‚in-between‘, in which one is the condition of existence for the other. „Dagegen / Dabei“ thematises art as a space of possibilities, especially in light of its specific critical potential.
