Hautnah() {
  Quem quaeritis non est hic ;
} //1997

For the parallel exhibition accompanying the 10th Dokumenta, "Inszenierung und Vergegenwärtigung", Alba D'Urbano transposed the project "Hautnah" onto the context of the church. In addition to the "skin-suit", shoes, gloves and manipulated portait photos of the artist were placed around the nave, symbolising the primary organs of sense. The absence of the actual body was replaced acoustically through a sound-installation based on the image of the body of the artist. This was overlayed by computer over the ground plan of the church. The eight points of intersection with the pillars were translated into ASCII-codes per computer. Finally, the individual characters were read and electronispeakers attached to the pillars in the nave.
